New Grand Theft Auto Game in 2010?
By Bryn Williams | Jul 15, 2009
Analyst Michael Pachter pegs 2010 as the year we'll get a new Grand Theft Auto game.
Wedbush Morgan Securities' Michael Pachter is claiming that Rockstar has confirmed that a new game in the highly popular Grand Theft Auto series is in development. IGN PS3 ran a piece yesterday which suggests this new title has already been in development for well over one year.
"Management declined to state when the game will launch, but has confirmed to us that the game is in development, has been for over a year, and is using the same game "engines" as the last version," Pachter wrote.
"Management also told us that the team at Rockstar North is highly motivated to get the game out, and that the team understands that its highest payday will come from working on GTA instead of any other game. When we do the simple math, we conclude that the next installment is likely to be completed by some time in 2010, although given the frequency of game delays, it is not clear that it will necessarily come before October 31, 2010."
Will gamers be able to look forward to Grand Theft Auto V sooner rather than later? We'll keep our eyes open and report back with any new findings if and when they happen.

Serious Sam HD: New Images, New Competition
By Bryn Williams | Jul 15, 2009
Tweet a cracking one-liner and see if it turns up in the upcoming remake of Serious Sam.
It's the second chance today for gamers to leave their mark on an upcoming game as CDV, Croteam, Majesco and Devolver Digital send out word that a new Serious Tweet contest has kicked off today.
"Pithy one-liners and snappy zingers" devised by Serious Sam fans can be submitted for vetting via Twitter to @devolverdigital starting today through July 30th. The winning line will then wind up being recording as an audio quip by the voice of Sam "Serious" Stone, John J. Dick. Finally, the sound bite will appear in the final version of the upcoming remake Serious Sam HD which launches on Xbox Live Arcade and PC later this summer.
"I never get any thanks for the wonderfully poetic and emotionally layered lines I write for Sam 'Serious' Stone," said an overworked and underpaid writer at Croteam "So guess what? Let someone else take a crack at it and see how hard it is. These witty remarks don't write themselves you know."
In addition to having the winning line appear in Serious Sam HD, the winner's name will be immortalized in the credits of the game and forever become a part of Serious Sam lore.
The winner will be announced via both Majesco and Devolver Digital's Twitter feeds in early August.

Coral Sea Map Unlocked in BF1943
By Will Tuttle | Jul 14, 2009
43 million kills sure seemed like a lot last week, didn't it?
Despite the fact that the game had some major issues during its launch weekend, a lot of people have played EA's Battlefield 1943 since it was released last week. So many, in fact, that the "epic" Coral Sea challenge wasn't nearly as epic as some had expected. It was just a few weeks ago that DICE announced plans to release the free Coral Sea map after plays had accumulated a whopping 43 million kills. While that number seemed eye-popping at first, it turns out that a lot of people took that challenge very seriously.
Only five days after the Coral Sea Challenge began, players on the Xbox 360 version of the game managed to complete it, thereby unlocking the new map and a new mode called "Air Superiority" that we presume will, you know, feature planes and stuff. According to a press release sent out earlier today, you'll be able to access the new mode from the menu, most likely because BF1943's flight controls aren't for everyone.
